Pip value calculator
What one pip is worth at your position size — in the quote currency, and in your account currency once you supply the rate.
The account-currency figure needs a conversion rate, which this page asks you for rather than guessing. No live rate is fetched and nothing is sent anywhere.
The arithmetic
value per pip (quote currency) = pip size × units
value per pip (account currency) = value in quote ÷ rate
One standard lot of EURUSD is 100,000 units. At a pip size of 0.0001 that is $10 per pip — and since the quote currency is already USD, a dollar account needs no conversion.
USDJPY is the case people get wrong. The pip is 0.01, not 0.0001, so 100,000 units gives ¥1,000 per pip. That is a yen figure: to see it in dollars, divide by the USDJPY rate.
Why "pip" is not a settled word
On four-decimal pairs everyone agrees: 0.0001. Almost everywhere else the term drifts. Brokers quoting a fifth decimal call that last digit a pipette, a tenth of a pip. On gold, some platforms call 0.01 a point and others call a whole dollar a pip — a hundredfold difference, which is a large mistake to make while sizing a position.
Before you rely on any pip figure, including this one, check what your own platform means by the word.
