What moves NAS100
Concentration
The index is dominated by a handful of very large technology companies. A single earnings reaction can move the whole index, which means NAS100 is less diversified than its hundred constituents suggest.
Duration sensitivity
Growth companies are valued on cash flows far in the future, so they are unusually sensitive to interest-rate expectations. A move in yields often hits the Nasdaq harder than the broader market.
The cash session
Index behaviour changes completely at the New York cash open. Overnight futures ranges are frequently swept in the first hour, which is a trap for stops placed on overnight structure.
Timeframes
The 15m and 1h are where the cash session is readable. The daily is where the trend lives. The gap between the futures close and the cash open is a structural feature, not noise to be smoothed away.
Index coverage depends on the market-data provider. Where a live quote is not publicly available, this page says so rather than showing a stale number.
